The Roman Catholic Diocese of Novara ( lat. : Dioecesis Novariensis , ital. : Diocese of Novara ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Novara . Cathedral is the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta .
history
The diocese of Novara was established by Pope Siricius in 398 and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Milan as a suffragan . On March 14, 1530, the Diocese of Novara gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Vigevano .
The Diocese of Novara was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Vercelli as a suffragan on July 17, 1817.
In 2007, as a result of the Motu Proprios Summorum Pontificum, three parishes were established in the Diocese of Novara for the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite .
