history
The diocese of Casale Monferrato was established on April 18, 1474 by Pope Sixtus IV with the Apostolic Constitution Pro excellenti from ceding territories of the dioceses of Asti and Vercelli and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Milan as a suffragan .
On July 17, 1817, the diocese of Casale Monferrato was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Vercelli as a suffragan.
