Frank Capsouras (born January 29, 1947 in Hackensack , New Jersey ) is a retired American weightlifter .

Career

Frank Capsouras grew up in New York . He started lifting weights at the age of 14 and was American youth champion three times in a row from 1964 to 1966. Since he was considered a great American talent, he was brought to this club by John Terpak , the former world champion from 1937 and vice-president of the York Barbell Club and strongly supported. Frank Capsoura's career as a weightlifter was not quite as successful as it would have been desirable for those in charge of the American Weightlifting Association and for himself. In 1969 he set a new world record in jogging the middle heavyweight at 199 kg. Except for a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in 1975 in a duel, he won no other medals at international championships.

Frank Capsouras still lives in New York.
