Frank Carillo

Frank Carillo (born July 14, 1950 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American guitarist , singer and rock musician.

Frank Carillo is considered a musician's musician. The band Frank Carillo & the Bandoleros has been around since 2004.

Carillo made first recordings for Peter Frampton and his LPs Wind Of Change (1972) and Frampton's Camel (1973). In 1973 Carillo founded the band Doc Holliday in England (not to be confused with the US band of the same name). The LP of the same name was produced by Chris Kimsey . The first solo LP was released in 1978. In the following years Carillo worked with, among others, Yvonne Elliman and Carly Simon , Joan Jett and Twiggy , for whom he also wrote songs.

Carillo toured in the USA as a supporting act for Cheap Trick , Bad Company , Tom Petty , J. Geils Band and Van Halen, among others . In 1990 he started working with the singer Annie Golden under the name Golden Carillo . The duo released three LPs, the first two of which were also successful in Europe. The song "Waiting For Someone" by A. Golden and F. Carillo was used for the soundtrack of the film "Bodyswitch - Verhexte Küsse" (1992).

Golden Carillo's Toxic Emotion LP was recorded in the studio of George Kooymans ( Golden Earring ). A lasting friendship developed between the two musicians. In 1995 Carillo met the Dutch singer Anouk , whose debut album was produced by Kooymans. Carillo was involved in this production as a musician and songwriter.

In 2003 Carillo also worked as a songwriter and guitarist on the CD Milbrook USA from Golden Earring . In recent years Carillo has also been seen in the touring band of blues musician John P. Hammond . In 2006 Carillo toured the Netherlands and Germany.
