Annie Golden

Annie Golden (born October 19, 1951 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York ) is an American actress , singer and composer .

Life

Annie Golden was the singer for The Shirts in the 1970s and early 1980s . In 1990 he started working with the singer-songwriter Frank Carillo under the name Golden Carillo . The duo released three LPs: Fire in Newtown , Toxic Emotion and Back for More . The first two albums were also successful in Europe. Their title Waiting For Someone was used for the 1992 soundtrack for the film Bodyswitch - Verhexte Kisses .

She made her debut as a film actress in 1979 in the film Hair , in which she starred alongside John Savage , Treat Williams and Beverly D'Angelo . In the film Strictly Business (1991) she played alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Halle Berry , in the film It Stays in the Family (2003) alongside Michael and Kirk Douglas . She has also appeared in several episodes of the television series Cheers , Miami Vice and Third Watch .

She starred on Broadway in numerous plays and musicals such as Hair , Ah, Wilderness! , On the Town and The Full Monty . She was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in The Full Monty . In 2006 she appeared alongside Eartha Kitt in the musical Mimi Le Duck .

As a composer, Golden wrote the song Hang Up the Phone for the film This is only allowed as an adult (1984) and the music for the comedy film Tom and Francie , produced in 2005 , in which she played one of the leading roles.
