Frank Fröhlich (born March 29, 1964 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a German acoustic guitarist , composer and publisher .

Life

Frank Fröhlich initially trained as a chef , studied cultural management in Meißen from 1985 to 1988 and then headed the legendary club “ Scheune ” in Dresden as program director .

Parallel to his studies, he completed six years of guitar training with Wolfgang Kühn in Radebeul and began a concert career in 1989 that brought him together with many important jazz musicians: including Volker Schlott ( saxophone ), Joe Sachse ( guitar ), Katrin May ( flute ), Michael Henkel ( Piano ), Andreas Böttcher ( vibraphone ). “Frank Fröhlich”, wrote the Dresden culture magazine SAX in May 1999, “has made himself comfortable between all chairs. His playing is a constant border crossing through classical, jazz and folk ”. And the Kölner Stadtanzeiger wrote: “A discovery: Frank Fröhlich. It is not only called that, it is and it also makes people happy: With his playing on the guitar, his compositions and his audio books. ”Since 1993, Fröhlich has been giving around 100 concerts a year in various formations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and England , Poland and Namibia.
