Frank Meyke

Frank Meyke (born May 14, 1949 in Havelberg ) is a German diplomat . Among other things, he was the German ambassador to Bangladesh , Zambia and Nepal .

Life

After studying history and the English language as well as the second state examination for teaching at a grammar school , Frank Meyke worked as a teacher at a grammar school from 1976 to 1977. After joining the Foreign Service in 1977, he was employed at the Embassy in Kenya , the Foreign Office, the Embassy in Ghana (from 1985 to 1987 as permanent representative of the Ambassador) and at the Embassy in Ireland . From 1990 to 1995 Meyke was head of a department at the Foreign Office in Bonn. He then served as Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to New Zealand for five years .

From 2000 to 2003 he was Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Novosibirsk . This was followed by a use in the Foreign Office in Berlin until 2006. From 2006 to 2009 he was the German ambassador in Dhaka ( Bangladesh ). He then took over the management of the embassy in Lusaka (Zambia) until 2012 ; his successor as ambassador to Zambia was Bernd Finke , who was previously head of the department at the Foreign Office. From 2012 until his retirement in 2014 he worked as ambassador to Nepal .
