Frank S. Nugent

Frank S. Nugent (born May 27, 1908 in New York City , New York , † January 5, 1966 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American screenwriter and film critic.

Life

After studying journalism, Frank S. Nugent worked as a police reporter. He came to the cinema as a film critic for the New York Times . From 1940 Nugent also worked as a script doctor before turning back to film journalism. He was the screenwriter of several successful films by John Ford in the 1950s , but also worked with other directors such as Otto Preminger .
