Manohla Dargis

Manohla Dargis (born April 1961 ) is an American film critic and journalist . She is currently, together with AO Scott , chief film critic for the New York Times .

Life

Manohla Dargis grew up in the East Village , Manhattan . She graduated from Hunter College High School in 1978 and graduated from the State University of New York with a 1985 degree in Literature . She was a film journalist for the Village Voice , LA Weekly and a chief film critic for the Los Angeles Times and currently the New York Times. She was among the 2015 Pulitzer Prize nominees in the Critique category.
