Frank Black

Erich Frank Schwarz (born October 7, 1857 in Breslau , † November 12, 1928 in Eberswalde ) was a German botanist . Its botanical author abbreviation is " F.Schwarz ".

Life

Frank Schwarz was the son of the chemist Heinrich Schwarz , who worked in Breslau and Graz . After his first school years in Breslau, he attended grammar school in Graz, passed the school leaving examination in autumn 1875 and then began studying natural sciences at the University of Graz . In January 1880 he was at Hermann Leitgeb to Dr. phil. PhD . From 1881 to 1883 he was assistant to Wilhelm Pfeffer in Tübingen and from 1883 to 1888 private lecturer with Ferdinand Julius Cohn at the University of Breslau. He then followed the call to the Royal Forest Academy Eberswalde . In 1914 he was one of the signatories of the declaration of university teachers of the German Empire .

On August 14, 1889, he was given matriculation no. Elected member of the Leopoldina in 2843 .

The pedagogue, politician and statistician Gustav Rümelin was his father-in-law.
