The Prague Express class is a series of container ships operated by the Hamburg shipping company Hapag-Lloyd .

details

The Prague Express class includes three ships that were built between 2009 and 2010 at the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries . The ships are largely the same as the Colombo Express class units delivered between 2005 and 2008 and the ships in the Vienna Express class that was built at the same time . The three Prague-class ships differ from the latter in terms of their main engine design. With a width of 42.8 m, they belong to the shipping company's Post- Panamax ships. You sail under the German flag with your home port of Hamburg.

technology

The ships are powered by a ten-cylinder two - stroke diesel engine from Hyundai Heavy Industries with an output of 57,200  kW , which acts on a fixed pitch propeller. This enables the ships to reach a speed of around 25  knots .

In the bow of the ship is a bow thruster fitted with an output of 2,500 kW.

The container storage capacity is 8,749 TEU . There are 730 connections for refrigerated containers.
