Franz-Josef Schmedding (born December 4, 1963 in Emsdetten ) is a German former football player .

Career

Schmedding came from the amateurs to the professional team of Borussia Dortmund in the 1983/84 season . He made his debut in the Bundesliga in the preseason . He played two games. In the team around greats like Bernd Klotz and Erdal Keser , the young striker Schmedding could not prevail and switched to BV 08 Lüttringhausen in the first half of the season . On November 26th, he sniffed the Bundesliga for 20 minutes against 1. FC Köln . Lüttringhausen played in the 2nd Bundesliga , Schmedding quickly prevailed and played his first game on December 8th. In the 3-0 defeat against SV Darmstadt 98 , he was on the field for over 90 minutes. In the further course of the season he was used in twelve other games and scored two goals. Lüttringhausen was knocked off last and relegated. Schmedding moved to Belgium , where he went on the hunt for goals for KSK Beveren 53 games and 16 goals for the next four years . He later played for Hertha Zehlendorf .
