Franz Dula

Franz Caspar Josef Matthias Dula (born March 10, 1814 in Lucerne ; † January 30, 1892 in Baden , legal domicile in Buttisholz ) was a Swiss teacher and politician .

Life

Born the son of a shoemaker , Dula studied philology in Jena after attending grammar school in Lucerne . During his studies in 1833 he became a member of the Arminia fraternity in the castle cellar . After completing his studies, he became a secondary teacher in Lucerne in 1836 and in Reinach in the canton of Aargau in 1842 , where he became school inspector in 1847 . In 1847 he was elected as a member of the government of the Canton of Lucerne , which he was a member of until 1849. He then became director of the teachers' seminar in Rathausen . From 1859 to 1867 he was a member of the Lucerne Grand Council . He was President of the Swiss Non-Profit Society . In 1867 he became director of the Wettingen teacher training college , where he resigned as director in 1886 and worked as a teacher until 1891.
