Franz Everschor

Franz Everschor (* 1934 in Düsseldorf ) is a German journalist , film critic and author .

Life

Everschor first studied law . From 1962 to 1965 he was editor of the Catholic film magazine film-dienst .

Together with Hartmut Grund and Heinz Ungureit , he built up the ARD film editorial team from 1966 . Later he was deputy managing director of Degeto Film . Everschor had power of attorney there and was responsible for ARD film purchasing. After allegations that he had passed internal processes on to the media entrepreneur Leo Kirch , he was dismissed without notice in mid-August 1987. Everschor then brought a lawsuit against Degeto at the regional labor court in Frankfurt am Main, which led to a settlement between the parties.

In the same year Everschor settled in the United States, where he has since lived in California as a freelance publicist. Since the early 1990s he has been writing, among other things, for radio correspondence, later media correspondence , for which he reports weekly on developments in the American media industry. Since 1990 he has written the regular column “From Hollywood ” for the film service .
