Franz Fischer (journalist)

Franz Fischer (born October 17, 1912 in Klosterneuburg , † September 30, 1983 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist and civil servant.

Life

After graduating from high school in Klosterneuburg in 1930, Franz Fischer studied law at the University of Vienna and was awarded a doctorate in 1935. iur. PhD . From 1935 to 1940 Fischer was employed by an insurance company, from 1940 to the end of the war he was in the military.

From 1946 to 1966 he was press officer at the Federal Ministry for Social Administration, organizer of school meals and founder of the Austrian UNICEF committee. From 1966 to 1968 he was press chief of the Austrian Federal President , then until 1972 head of the cultural department of the Federal Press Service . From 1972 until his retirement in 1977 he was section head of the Federal Press Service.

Franz Fischer was also active as a writer.

His brother was the actor OW Fischer .
