Franz Gresse

Franz Gresse (born June 12, 1895 in Berlin ; † March 21, 1968 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Franz Gresse attended an elementary school and then a commercial college in Berlin. He joined the SPD in 1911 and became a trade unionist the following year. He became an employee of a footwear wholesaler. During the First World War , Gresse was drafted in 1916 . From 1919 he was employed by the Berlin magistrate , but was dismissed in 1924 due to the downsizing ordinance. Later he was the managing director of a shoe company until 1945.

After the Second World War , Gresse worked for the Berlin labor administration . In the Berlin election in 1948 , he was elected to the district assembly in the Tiergarten district. In February 1955, Joachim Karnatz was elected district councilor, so Gresse moved up to the Berlin House of Representatives . He was a member of parliament until 1967.
