Franz Hervay Edler von Kirchberg (born July 26, 1870 in Stübing near Graz , † June 24, 1904 in Mürzzuschlag , Styria ) was the first district captain of Mürzzuschlag.

Life

His parents were Rittmeister Franz and Henriette Hervay von Kirchberg. Franz Hervay Edler von Kirchberg was a lawyer , administrative officer and from January 1st 1903 the first district captain of Mürzzuschlag.

The establishment of the Mürzzuschlag district administration

As it is today, the area of the former Mürzzuschlag district was looked after by the district authority of Bruck an der Mur from 1868 onwards. At that time, however, there was no branch in Mürzzuschlag. That is why it was very difficult for the residents of the Mürzer Oberland to do their official auditions, because the trip to Bruck often took two to three days.

With the imperial resolution of November 14, 1902, the establishment of the kuk district administration in Mürzzuschlag was approved on January 1, 1903. In this matter it was certainly an advantage that many prominent guests stayed in Mürzzuschlag as winter sports enthusiasts and for summer holidays . In addition, Emperor Franz Joseph I and his family often visited the hunting lodge in Mürzsteg, which is now available to the Austrian Federal President . The staff of the district authorities at that time consisted of four qualified civil servants, a few assistants, the district doctor, the district veterinarian, the district school council and the street staff. The head of the district captain had to wear a green cloth uniform , white underwear and gloves in all official matters . However, the saber could be taken down during office work. It was also a rule that there was a military salute.

death

On June 24, 1904, Franz Hervay Edler von Kirchberg shot himself in his Mürzzuschlag apartment. He may have chosen suicide out of disappointment in his marriage to a con man . The "Baroness Tamara von Lützow" (1860 in Posen - after 1929) was not - as stated - the daughter of a Russian grand duke , but a daughter of the Jewish magician and magician Samuel Bellachini . She also married the district captain on August 9, 1903, although the last of her four previous marriages had not yet been divorced.
