Franz Holzamer

Franz Holzamer (born October 11, 1872 in Nieder-Olm ; † May 29, 1945 in Berlin-Neukölln ) was a German architect , entrepreneur and politician ( economic party ).

Life and work

After attending primary school in Nieder-Olm , Holzamer completed an upholstery apprenticeship in a furniture factory in Mainz from 1886 , which he completed with the assistant test. He then went on a hike and worked as a craftsman in Bavaria , Switzerland , Tyrol and Austria-Hungary . In the following period he went through self-study (architecture and drawing) at museums and arts and crafts schools in Frankfurt am Main , Munich , Vienna and Berlin . He passed the master craftsman's examination, initially worked in Berlin shops and from 1907 worked as an independent master upholsterer and interior designer in Berlin-Charlottenburg . At the same time he worked as a teacher at the local wallpapering college. In 1916/17 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Holzamer was a member of the Berlin Chamber of Crafts and became head master of the Berlin wallpapering guild in March 1924. In addition, he acted as an expert for the wallpapering trade.

Holzamer was a member of the Prussian Landtag from 1921 to 1924 . In the Reichstag election in May 1924 he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he belonged until 1932.
