Franz Josef Zebisch (born October 16, 1920 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate , † February 24, 1988 in Gran Canaria , Spain ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary and vocational school in Weiden Zebisch had since 1935 at the Weiden German sheet glass AG (DETAG) operates. During the Second World War he was used with the traveling personnel of the Kriegsmarine . He was most recently taken prisoner of war , from which he was released in 1951.

After his return from captivity, Zebisch worked again at DETAG, initially as a glass top grader and later as a skilled worker. He had been a member of the local works council since 1953, was initially its deputy chairman and was elected chairman of the general works council of DELOG / DETAG in 1958 . Since 1962 he was a member of the company's supervisory board. Zebisch joined the SPD in 1952. He had been chairman of the SPD district association Weiden since 1954 and was elected deputy chairman of the SPD district of Niederbayern-Oberpfalz in 1962. In addition, he had been a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Bavaria since 1972 .

Zebisch had been a councilor for the city of Weiden since 1956. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1980. He was always drawn into parliament via the Bavarian state list.

When the SPD parliamentary group distributed their seats in the plenary session of the Bundestag according to the alphabet - A in front, Z in the back - Zebisch complained that he was backbencher again .
