Franz Münzer

Franz Münzer (born August 10, 1823 in Groß Strehlitz , † July 1, 1893, presumably in Alt-Cosel ) was a German Catholic clergyman and politician .

Life

Münzer attended high school in Opole and then studied Catholic theology at the University of Breslau from 1845 . During this time he became a member of the Corps Silesia Breslau in 1845 . After graduating , he was ordained a priest in 1848 and initially a chaplain in Slawentzitz . From 1858 at the latest he was pastor in Alt-Cosel. He later received the honorary position of archpriest there .

In addition to his position as pastor, Münzer was unusually politically active. From 1859 to 1862 Münzer was for the first time a member of the electoral district Leobschütz-Kosel in the Prussian House of Representatives . He was re-elected from 1862 to 1866 and again from 1873 until his death in 1893 as a member of the House of Representatives.
