Franz Pauly (born December 18, 1837 in Sankt Aldegund , Rhine Province , † March 21, 1913 in Düsseldorf ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Pauly, son of the Sankt Aldegunder winemaker, wine merchant and innkeeper P. Philipp Pauly and his wife Maria Marg, attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1860 to 1863. There he was a student of Hans Fredrik Gude and Oswald Achenbach . He stayed in the landscape class of Achenbach in 1862/1863.
