Franz Philipp Florinus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Franz Philipp Florinus , actually Florin (* 1649 Schwelm , Westphalia, † October 30, 1699 Edelsfeld near Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate ), was a Protestant theologian and author.

Florinus studied in Altdorf near Nuremberg in 1670 , was vicar in Eismannsberg from 1671 to 1674 , then rector and ducal librarian with Christian August von Pfalz-Sulzbach . In 1679 he came to Rosenberg as a pastor and in 1681 to Edelsfeld and Kürmreuth , where he also ran the parish economy. His practical experience as a farmer in connection with that of a ducal librarian qualified him as the editor and in part also the author of the work of household fathers' literature associated with his name , just "the Florinus". He himself “elaborated the very least”, but consulted other co-authors.
