Franz Brandl , from 1884 Franz Ritter von Brandl (born April 7, 1833 in Laufen , † April 14, 1896 in Bad Reichenhall ) was a German builder .

Life

After training at the building trade school , Franz Brandl u. a. in railway construction in the Freilassing area . After Georg von Dollmann had completed the plans for the Herrenchiemsee New Palace , Brandl was given construction management in 1878. From 1881 he was significantly involved in the expansion of Neuschwanstein Castle . In particular, Brandl overcame the difficulties of financing with a personal loan. In today's Bahnhofstrasse in Bad Reichenhall , roughly where the headquarters of Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Oberbayern Südost is today, Brandl built the Villa Diana on behalf of Ludwig II , which the king gave to his master builder. After the death of King Ludwig II, Brandl realized several buildings in Prinzregentenstrasse in Munich and campaigned for the construction of the railway line between Freilassing and Laufen.

Brandl bequeathed 10,000 marks to the city of Laufen, the money was used for a horticultural design of the former Seilergraben .
