Franz Karl Friedrich Eugen Roßhirt (born February 4, 1820 in Heidelberg ; † January 5, 1887 there ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Roßhirt was the son of the law professor Konrad Franz Roßhirt and first enjoyed private lessons and then attended the Lyceum in Heidelberg. He studied there and in Berlin law . In 1846 he became a local judge in Lahr , in 1847 in Durlach and in 1849 a member of the court of appeal (court of appeal) in Mannheim . In 1853 he became the first public prosecutor at this court and at the upper court there, and in 1857 a member of the upper court. In 1858 and 1859 he was the representative of the Baden government in Rome and took part in the negotiations on the Concordat. In 1877 he was appointed Vice President of the Mannheim Higher Court, after which he retired.

He was a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Baden Estates from 1859 to 1861 and from 1863 to 1871. From 1868 to 1871 he was a member of the Customs Parliament and from 1884 to 1887 of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Baden 7 ( Offenburg , Kehl ) and the German Center Party .

In 1883 Franz Roßhirt acted as President of the 30th German Catholic Congress in Düsseldorf .

Roßhirt's son Julius Roßhirt (1854–1908) was a hydraulic engineer.
