Manfred Koutek

Manfred L. Koutek (born March 29, 1951 in Linz ) is an Austrian painter, draftsman and graphic artist .

Career

Manfred Ludwig Ernst Koutek was born as the son of a master builder in Linz / Upper Austria on March 29, 1951. He attended the Aloisianum (private high school - Jesuit) in Linz - Freinberg and was then trained as a construction technician at the HTL Linz.

Suffering from a lung disease, he had to complete a six-month hospital stay in Gmunden - Schloss Cumberland in 1971. He met the then 67-year-old painter and draftsman Ragimund Reimesch , who inspired him to become an artist. From then on, Koutek began to train himself in painting techniques. From 1974 to 1985 Manfred Koutek was a guest student at the University for Artistic and Industrial Design Linz with Alfred Billy and Dietmar Brehm .

In 1974 he started exhibiting in galleries, museums and cultural institutions around the world, and since 1978 he has been working exclusively as a freelance artist.

Koutek is a member of several art and cultural associations, partly also as president and vice-president. In 1982 Koutek founded his "ATELIER - GALERIE HOFBERG 10" in the center of the historic old town of Linz.
