Franz Schneider (actor)

Franz Wilhelm Schneider (born March 18, 1916 in Cologne-Sülz , † May 13, 1985 in Frechen ) was a German popular actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Schneider was a foreign trade merchant and joined the Navy in 1939. After the Second World War he applied to the Millowitsch Theater in Cologne and received minor roles. In 1951 he made a small appearance in the film The Tiger Akbar , also known as Panic at the Williams Circus, directed by Harry Piel . He achieved his comedic breakthrough with a role in the play Der Etappenhase , which was also broadcast on television in 1953. Since then he has had numerous appearances with Lucy and Willy Millowitsch in the theater and in the live broadcasts of the plays as well as in films such as the Hesselbach family on vacation in 1955 or Dicke Luft 1962.

He was also a speaker in numerous radio plays , such as the accountant Munzenberger in the radio play series Hesselbach GmbH produced by HR , after which the television series Die Firma Hesselbach was created from 1960 . He also spoke more often at the NWDR and its legal successor, the WDR . He acted together with theater colleagues such as the Millowitsch and Elsa Scholten siblings in a number of oral arthropods, but he was also heard in small supporting roles in two of the Paul Temple radio plays .

After a stroke in 1965, he remained dependent on a wheelchair and could no longer step.

Franz Schneider died in Frechen in 1985. He was buried in the main cemetery in Frechen, Sankt Audomar (hall 19, row 14).
