Career

After graduating from the Benedictine Meschede humanistic grammar school in Meschede , he began studying German, politics and philosophy in Marburg in 1973 and, in 1986, developed a job profile as a freelance language advisor.

Since 1998 she has produced her own publications with a focus on cultural and literary history . Essay and feature productions at Hessischer Rundfunk (HR), Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), Deutschlandfunk (DLF) and Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) complemented this journalistic work. In 2002, the book Questions of Adoration of Mary followed . In 2007 his book The Colors of Eros was published , in which he published his research on the dualism of heavenly and earthly love in a popular form. On the other hand, his basic work Colors of Eros , published in 2004, makes a more scientific claim .

As a freelance and independent humanities and cultural studies scholar, Siepe was also active as a reviewer and published in online media such as Glanz & Elend - magazine for literature and contemporary criticism , at literaturkritik.de and on the art history portal . Since 2012 he has been a freelance writer for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) in the field of “humanities”. At the center of his thinking was the reconstruction of the historical and cultural history of bipolar tensions such as “light versus dark”, “above versus below”, “heavenly versus earthly” or “abysmal versus sublime”. He has devoted himself to the subject of Marian veneration as an exercise of religion "from below" in several magazine articles.

Siepe lived in Marburg.
