Franz Tafel (born September 19, 1799 in Deidesheim , † February 25, 1869 in Munich ) was a Bavarian politician .

Life

After Tafel had studied in Mainz , he was ordained a priest in 1823 . In 1817 he joined the Germania Tübingen fraternity . In 1823 he worked as a chaplain in Zweibrücken , in 1824 as parish administrator in Dackenheim , from 1825 to 1829 as a pastor in Freinsheim and from 1829 as pastor and district school director again in Zweibrücken.

Working in politics

From 1836, Tafel belonged to the district administrator of the Rhine district and sat for the Democrats in the Frankfurt National Assembly in 1848/49 . Tafel held a seat in the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Bavaria from 1840 to 1843, from 1849 to 1858 and from 1863 until his death in February 1869 . He was one of the most important speakers of the Palatinate in the Bavarian state parliament .
