Franz Teyber
Franz Teyber (born August 25, 1758 in Vienna ; † October 21, 1810 there ) was an Austrian composer , organist and conductor.
Live and act
Franz Teyber, brother of Anton Teyber , received his initial training from his father Matthäus Teyber (1711–1785), who was a violinist at the kk Hofkapelle in Vienna , and studied with Georg Christoph Wagenseil .
1786–1788 he was the conductor of the Schikaneders traveling theater company . In 1788/89 he was in the service of the Margrave of Baden in Karlsruhe, in 1791/93 in the Rhineland (Cologne), 1794/95 in Regensburg and Augsburg. From 1796–1798 Franz Teyber was concertmaster in Bern. At the end of 1798 he returned to Vienna, composed alternately with his brother Anton Redouten dances and again worked with Schikaneder. From 1801 music director of the Theater an der Wien , which opened on June 13th with the opera "Alexander" (music: Franz Teyber; libretto: Emanuel Schikaneder ). From 1807 Teyber was at the theater in the Leopoldstadt . Teyber, who had been compared to Johann Georg Albrechtsberger as an organ virtuoso , was appointed cathedral organist by St. Stephan in Vienna in 1809 and on August 13, 1810 also appointed to the kk court organist.
In 1894, Teybergasse in Vienna- Penzing (14th district) was named after the Teyber family of musicians.
