Franz Wittmann (politician)

Franz Wittmann (born February 15, 1895 in Höfen , † December 24, 1975 in Tirschenreuth ) was a German farmer and politician ( BVP , later CSU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and advanced training school, Wittmann continued his academic career at the agricultural school of the Sankt Ottilien Archabbey. From 1915 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . He later joined the KDSt.V. Agilolfia Freising in the CV . From 1921 to 1953 he worked as an independent farmer in Schirnbrunn , became chairman of the Christian farmers' association in 1926 and a member of the board of the Raiffeisen Association in Wildenau in 1929 . In 1933 he resigned from all functions.

After the end of the war, Wittmann took part in the founding of the Bavarian Farmers' Association , had been its chairman in Wildenau since 1945 and became district chairman of the association in the Tirschenreuth district in 1949 . Since 1949 he was a member of the supervisory board of the dairy cooperative in Tirschenreuth. In addition, he acted as an assessor at the Tirschenreuth Farmers' Court and at the Social Court of the agricultural trade association.

Political party

Wittmann was a member of the BVP until 1933 . In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CSU in Wildenau and was elected chairman of the CSU district association Tirschenreuth in 1949.

MP

Wittmann was a local councilor in Wildenau from 1924 to 1933 and a member of the Upper Palatinate district assembly from 1929 to 1933 . After 1945 he was again a member of the district assembly. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1961 and again from October 26, 1964, when he moved up for the resigned MP Emil Kemmer , until 1965, each for the constituency of Tirschenreuth. He was always drawn into parliament via the Bavarian state list.

Public offices

Wittmann served as second mayor of the community of Wildenau from 1924 to 1933.
