Franz Wolfgang Demont
Franz Wolfgang Demont SCI (born November 22, 1880 in Burtscheid ; † June 15, 1964 ) was Apostolic Vicar of Aliwal .
Life
He was ordained a priest on April 25, 1905. The Pope appointed him on July 27, 1923 Apostolic Prefect of Gariep . On January 27, 1936 Pius XI appointed him . the titular bishop of Usinaza and Vicar Apostolic of Aliwal . The bishop of Aachen , Joseph Heinrich Peter Vogt , donated him episcopal ordination on March 22nd of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Hermann Joseph Sträter , Auxiliary Bishop in Aachen , and Gerard Vesters MSC , Apostolic Vicar of Rabaul .
He resigned from his office on February 3, 1944. He attended the first two sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
