Franz Pecháček

Franz Xaver Pecháček (born July 4, 1793 in Vienna ; † September 15, 1840 in Karlsruhe ) was an Austrian violin virtuoso and composer .

Life

Franz Xaver Pecháček was trained by his father Franz Martin Pecháček as well as by Ignaz Schuppanzigh and Emanuel Aloys Förster . From 1809 to 1822 he was a violinist at the Theater an der Wien . He was then concertmaster of the Stuttgart court orchestra , and from 1826 of the Grand Ducal Badische Hofkapelle Karlsruhe .

Pecháček was friends with Ludwig van Beethoven in Vienna and played his works several times.

In addition to polonaises, variations, rondos and potpourris for violin and orchestra, he composed two string quartets and an Adagio et Polonaise for clarinet and orchestra.
