Franz von Bodelschwingh (born November 9, 1827 in the moated house Marck ; † April 3, 1890 in Bückeburg ) was a German manor owner and Prussian district administrator.

origin

As the son of the married couple Ernst von Bodelschwingh and Charlotte von Diest, Frauz von Bodelschwingh came from the Westphalian nobility of Bodelschwingh . His grandparents were Franz Freiherr von Bodelschwingh and Friederike von Plettenberg zu Heyde . His brother Friedrich was the founder of the world-famous Von Bodelschwing Foundation Bethel , whose son Wilhelm was head of the foundation from 1898 to 1904. His uncle Carl was the Prussian finance minister, district president in Arnsberg and district administrator of the Hamm district. His son Ernst was a Prussian officer and district administrator of the Hamm district, and his daughter Ida was married to Friedrich von Bodelschwingh .

Professional background

After the leaving certificate at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium Berlin he made a one-year forestry education in the Forest District Himmelpforten (Möhne) and then moved to the forest institute Neustadt-Eberswalde. In 1850 he did his military service as a one-year volunteer in the 1st Guard Hunters Battalion . He passed the forest science preliminary examination in September 1851 and became head forester first in Abtshagen near Stralsund and then in Siegburg . In August 1854 he passed the chief forester's examination and in 1859 moved to the municipal administration of the chief forester in Krofdorf / Wetzlar . On June 15, 1860 he was appointed chief forester in Krofdorf. After the unanimous election as the first candidate for the office of district administrator in Hamm on July 7, 1865, he was appointed district administrator of the Hamm district on September 2, 1865, with the passing of the examination. His request of September 20, 1866 for release was granted on October 4, 1866. In the same month he was appointed forest inspector at the Trier district government . Von Bodelschwingh married Clara von Hymmen on August 19, 1855. Her brother Reinhard von Hymmen was the district administrator for the Hagen district. Thirteen children were the result of this marriage.
