Franz von Stiten (* in Wismar ; † August 24, 1590 in Bergedorf ) was councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck .

Life

Franz von Stiten was not related to the von Stiten family from Lübeck . He studied at the University of Rostock . Stiten was elected to the City Council of Lübeck in 1564. In 1571 he represented the city council of Lübeck in accepting a baptismal sponsorship for one of the children of Duke Julius of Braunschweig and Lüneburg . In 1576 he took part in a convention of the spiritual ministries of the cities of Hamburg, Lübeck and Lüneburg in Mölln ( Ministry Tripolitanum ). From 1584 to 1590 he was an official head of the administration of the two-city office of Bergedorf . His second wife Margrethe donated the pulpit to the Church of St. Petri and Pauli in Bergedorf in 1586 .

Franz von Stiten's first marriage was Dorothea Lunte, daughter and heiress of Mayor Gottschalck Lunte , who was appointed by Jürgen Wullenweber , and then Margarethe, daughter of Mayor Ambrosius Meyer . The former brought him the Lübschen estates Trenthorst and Wulmenau into the marriage. Franz von Stiten lived at Schildstrasse 10 . He had a " chair " in the Darsow chapel of the Aegidienkirche , in which he was also buried.
