Franziska Meyer (born June 2, 1991 ) is a German mountain biker and German champion in two disciplines.

Career

In 2014 Meyer won the first ever Enduro discipline at the German University Championship in Altenberg (Ore Mountains) . In the same year Meyer started as a licensed rider in the iXS German Downhill Cup and finished the series victoriously. In 2015 Meyer won the German Enduro Championships in Altenau in the Upper Harz region . In 2016 she won the 4Cross title for the first time in Eisenhüttenstadt, Brandenburg . As a result, she was also nominated for the World Championships in Commezzadura, Italy, in Val di Sole , where she won a silver medal. The World Championship was Meyer's second start in the racing format, the DM the first. In 2017 Meyer was able to successfully defend her DM title in Gomaringen .

Meyer grew up in Hildesheim and is a medical student at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 2016 she took a break from her studies for 18 months and during this time she lived mainly as a bike guide in Puerto Naos on La Palma .

Awards

In the 2015 athletes' poll of the Hildesheimer Allgemeine Zeitung , Franziska Meyer took second place, and fourth place the following year. The Sparkasse Hildesheim Goslar Peine honored Meyer with the Sport Award as a Power Woman 2015 .
