Franziska Peer (born May 6, 1987 in Kufstein , Tyrol) is an Austrian sports shooter . She is a member of the Angerberg shooting guild .

Career

Franziska came to shooting sports through her father, who often took her to the shooting club. After her current coach Markus Bichler moved to her club in 2007, she quickly grew to become a top shooter.

In order to improve her technique, she decided to include the crossbow discipline in her training in 2008 . In 2010 she qualified for the World Crossbow Championship in Avon , where she was able to fight for two silver medals with the team. In addition, she reached 3rd place with the crossbow 10 meters.

In 2011 she returned with two European championship titles in the crossbow 10 meters and also with a silver and bronze medal from the European championships that took place in Unterägeri.

In April 2012 she was nominated for her successes at the 2011 European Crossbow Championship by ORF Tirol and the Tiroler Tageszeitung for the 2011 election of the Tyrolean athlete, which she ultimately won.

2012 was their most successful season to date. She returned from the crossbow world championship in Wil SG with a total of 6 medals (3 × gold, 1 × silver and 2 × bronze) and a new Austrian record in the 30 m kneeling discipline as the most successful world championship participant.

In 2013 she returned from the European Championships in Innsbruck as the most successful participant in the European Championships as a five-time medalist (3 × gold, 2 × silver).

In August 2014, Peer was able to look forward to a world championship title with the 30 meter team and a runner-up world champion with the 10 meter team, which was held in Frankfurt am Main .

In August 2015 Peer again took part in a world championship with the crossbow in Ulan-Ude , where she was able to achieve a runner-up world title in the 10 meter competition with the team.
