Markus Bichler (born January 23, 1979 in Wörgl , Tyrol) is an Austrian sports shooter . He is the chief rifleman (chairman) of the Angerberg rifle guild. He is also the trainer of crossbow European and world champion Franziska Peer .

Career

Markus started shooting at the age of 10. With the support of his parents, he was able to win almost all disciplines at state level in the junior class.

In 1998 he was drafted into the military and decided to train as a non-commissioned officer there. In 1999 he was able to qualify for a world championship for the first time and was able to win the world championship title directly with the team in the crossbow 30 m category. In the same year he was accepted into the national armed forces. This was followed by the title defense in 2000, as well as another world title in 2005 in the rapid fire category, also with the team. To date, Bichler has achieved numerous other top placements on an international level. He is also chief rifle master of the Angerberg rifle guild.

In 2004 he met his current wife, whom he married in September 2007. The couple has two daughters, Lara (* 2005) and Selina (* 2008).

Since 2007 he has been the trainer of crossbow European and world champion Franziska Peer .
