Franziska Roth (politician, 1964)

Franziska Roth (born May 1, 1964 ; resident in Reigoldswil ) is a Swiss politician (non-party, previously SVP ). From January 1, 2017 to July 31, 2019, she was on the Aargau government council , from which she resigned prematurely after a political crisis.

Life and work

Franziska Roth attended the commercial secondary school KV Liestal from 1980 to 1984 and a state evening grammar school from 1990 to 1993 and also worked as a clerk. From 1993 to 1998 she studied law at the University of Basel . She passed the Aargau bar exam in 2002. This was followed by several internships in the legal field as well as various legal and commercial temporary assignments. From 2001 to 2005 she was the legal secretary in the building department of the Canton of Zurich . From 2005 to 2008 she worked as a freelance lawyer in Zug and Rheinfelden . From 2008 to 2010 she was President of the Brugg Labor Court and until 2016 President of the Brugg District Court. Roth has been married to Rolf André Siegenthaler (SVP), a professional military officer and ex-Cantonal Council member from Zurich, since 2016 and has a son from a previous relationship. She lives in Rothrist .

Politics: Councilor

Franziska Roth was elected to the Aargau Government Council as SVP candidate for the 2017 to 2020 legislature, where she was head of the Department of Health and Social Affairs. As political priorities she indicated: asylum, social, health and security policy. Shortly after taking office, criticism of the government councilor began. For their administration.
