profile

The rhythmic all-day school form (GTS) was introduced in the 2010/11 school year.

Double hour model

In the all-day school, the double-hour model is used. In addition, the resulting teaching blocks encourage the use of open teaching methods. For individual work and as a supplement to the technical lessons in grades 5 and 6, intensification lessons are used in the main subjects, in which half-class work is carried out. This offers the possibility of differentiation according to performance level, learning progress, interest, etc.

Music profile

Every fifth grader is assigned to a music class and plays in and with this class for a period of three years. When registering, the decision is made whether the student will attend a wind class , a string class or a singing class. No previous musical training is required. Music lessons take place in each music class for three hours a week.

After the musical work in the orientation level , there is an extensive range of working groups in the field of music in which the student can participate voluntarily from the 7th school year. In addition, from the 8th grade onwards, a compulsory elective is part of the subject canon , which can include lessons from the field of culture, for example. As part of this subject, among other things, advanced music lessons are offered. In the upper level it is possible for the students to set a musical focus by choosing a music performance course.

school-building

The school building is a neo-renaissance corner building with a risalit gable and arbor. It was built from 1904 to 1906 according to plans by the architect Adolf Gelius and is a listed building .
