Fred Baron (film producer)

Fred Baron (* 1954 ) is an American film producer and has been Executive Vice President of 20th Century Fox since 2002 .

Career

Fred Baron was born in the USA in 1954 and grew up in Manhattan. Baron studied English literature at Ohio Wesleyan University , which he left with a Bachelor of Arts . He then attended St. Clare's College, Oxford University in England.

Early in his career, Baron worked in the postal department of Universal Studios from 1978 to 1979 . He then worked as a production assistant on film sets, including the two films like Katz und Maus and Nachtfalken . First active as a film producer in 1987, he was responsible for the production of The Steel Curtain , with Nick Nolte in the lead role. In 1990, Baron worked at Home Box Office as a co-producer on the television series Tales from the Crypt , before moving to 20th Century Fox , where he was responsible for the films The Last of the Mohicans and Edward Scissorhands , among others .

For his participation in Moulin Rouge , he received a nomination in the category Best Film at the 2002 Academy Awards with Martin Brown and Baz Luhrmann .

He then worked as an executive producer for the works I, Robot , The Day After Tomorrow , Kingdom of Heaven , Eragon - The Legacy of the Dragon Riders and Die Hard 4.0 .
