action

Reporter Ernie Souchak works in Chicago and is researching the corrupt city council member Yablonowitz. The politician has Souchak beaten up by two police officers, the journalist ends up in the hospital. Shortly afterwards, a bomb explodes in his apartment.

To protect Souchak, his publisher instructs him, the press-shy ornithologist Dr. Interviewing Nell Porter, who is in the Rocky Mountains. Souchak, a city dweller, spends two weeks in the wilderness of the mountains and falls in love with Nell.

After returning home, Souchak can only find his way around town slowly. A dead witness can eventually bring the Chicago organized crime issue to the press and bring it to justice. A little later, Dr. Porter to Chicago for a lecture. Souchak meets her again.

While the die-hard Souchak finds it difficult to find his way in the wilderness, Nell's independent and nature-loving life in the city of Chicago is hard to imagine. Ultimately, both can no longer leave each other and decide to get married despite all the contradictions on the railroad between Chicago and the Rocky Mountains.

Reviews

Roger Ebert praised Allen Garfield's game in the “ Chicago Sun-Times ” and compared the character he played with his own boss. The film itself is funny.

Blair Brown was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in 1982 .
