Fred Raskin

Fred Raskin (born September 26, 1973 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American film editor .

Life

Raskin began his career in film editing in the mid-1990s, initially as an assistant editor. The 2006 Annapolis Fight for Recognition was his first major film production as an independent editor and his first collaboration with director Justin Lin . Raskin was then involved in parts three through five of The Fast and the Furious film series, which were also directed by Lin.

As an assistant editor he was also involved in Kill Bill - Volume 1 and Kill Bill - Volume 2 , which was his first collaboration with Quentin Tarantino . Since Django Unchained (2012), Raskin has been the film editor of the late Sally Menke .

For Django Unchained , Raskin received a nomination for the British Academy Film Award in the category Best Editing . His work on Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) earned him several nominations, including the Saturn Award .
