Fredrik Raahauge Petersen (born August 27, 1983 in Ystad ) is a Swedish handball player . The right-hander is mostly used on the left winger.
Life
Fredrik Petersen started playing handball in his hometown. He also made his debut in the Swedish Elitserien for the local first division club IFK Ystad . With his club Petersen moved into the semi-finals of the Swedish championship in 2004, but otherwise he was rather mediocre in the league. In 2006 Petersen moved to the Danish top club GOG Svendborg TGI , where he was scheduled to succeed Anders Eggert . With the Jutlanders he won the Danish championship in 2007. In February 2010 he moved to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . In the summer of 2012, the Swede wanted to move to AG København , but because of the bankruptcy of the Copenhagen team, he joined HSV Hamburg , with which he won the EHF Champions League in 2013. For the 2013/14 season he moved to Füchsen Berlin , where he received a contract until 2015. He won the DHB Cup with the Foxes in 2014 and the EHF Europe Cup in 2015 . At the beginning of December 2015 it was announced that Petersen will be leaving Berlin in the summer of 2016. In mid-December he agreed with Füchsen Berlin to terminate the contract immediately. On February 1, 2016, HK announced that they had signed Malmö Petersen. In summer 2018 he returned to IFK Ystad. A change to IFK Kristianstad was agreed for the 2020/21 season , but this change was made in January 2020.
Fredrik Petersen has played 155 caps for the Swedish national team so far . For the men's handball world championship 2007 in Germany, he could not qualify with Sweden; at the European handball championship in Norway in 2008 he was only part of the extended squad of his country. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won the silver medal with Sweden. He also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
