The free game European championship in 1966 was the 13th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from 7 to 10 February 1966 in Cairo . It was the first free game European championship in Egypt.

history

The ex-professional Jean Marty took part in a free match European Championship for the first time and showed his great ability. Undefeated, he won his first class performance in this discipline for France. Despite good performances, the defending champion Henk Scholte only managed to finish second this time. The four-time European champion in the free game Joseph Vervest came third. The German champion Hartmut Burwig from Berlin showed a solid performance after four defeats at the beginning with three consecutive wins.
