Freystädter Albvorland west of the Schwarzach

The Freystädter Albvorland west of the Schwarzach is a natural area (111.00) in the Freystädter Albvorland in the foreland of the central Franconian Alb in the Franconian Keuper-Lias-Land in the southwest German step country .

In the west and north it borders on the Rother sand plates (113.50), in the east on the Schwarzachtal (111.01) and in the south on the Thalach headwaters (110.40), the Staufer Eisensandsteinberge (110.41) and the Schwarzach-Thalach valley funnel .

The area is used for agriculture and forestry. In the vicinity of Hilpoltstein the soil is more sandy and dry.

Politically, the area belongs to the city of Hilpoltstein, the Allersberg market and the city of Freystadt. It includes the districts of Eismannsdorf , Uttenhofen , Mörlach , Mörsdorf , Aßlschwang , Stockach , Michelbach , Meckenhausen , Grauwinkl , Jahrsdorf , Sindersdorf , Federhof , Lay , Mindorf , Hagenbuch , Tandl and Weinsfeld .
