Friedel Muders (* 1953 in Damscheid ) is a German designer and music label owner. Since 1978 he has mainly designed sound carrier packaging for numerous artists at home and abroad.

Professional background

Friedel Muders studied graphic design in Mainz and art and politics at the University of Bremen . In the mid-80s he founded the independent record label Fuego, on which the music group M. Walking On The Water is published. He is one of the most famous German designers for CD artwork, DVDs and websites in the German music and rock scene and continues to do this creative activity alongside his work as a label owner.

His cover art can be found on numerous albums by various musicians, e. B. Guano Apes , H-Blockx , HIM , Oomph! , Rocko Schamoni , Dissidents , Die Happy , Pili Pili , Falling carrier pigeons , Throw That Beat in the Garbagecan , Joan Armatrading , Rick Vito , Donots , Midge Ure , The Golden Lemons , Heather Nova . In 2000 he received the German music award Echo and the Comet awarded by the music broadcaster VIVA for designing and maintaining the artist websites of the Guano Apes group .

In 2004 Friedel Muders restructured his music releases on Fuego into a pure "online-only label" and since then has offered a wide range of current indie bands as well as re-issues of the German music scene, many of whose records are never on CD, via the digital distributor Zebralution were published. Since 2010 Fuego has also been publishing e-books in a special edition with out-of-print books and new publications by young authors - mainly under the broad term " pop culture ".
