Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Amalie von Prussia (born October 30, 1796 in Berlin , † January 1, 1850 in Dessau ) was a Prussian princess and by marriage Duchess of Anhalt-Dessau .

family

Friederike, called Filzis or Filsis , was a daughter of Prince Friedrich Ludwig Karl of Prussia (1773–1796) from his marriage to Friederike (1778–1841), daughter of Duke Karl II of Mecklenburg . Friederike was a niece of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III. as well as from Queen Luise .

In a connection arranged by the Prussian court, she married Duke Leopold IV of Anhalt-Dessau (1794–1881) in Berlin on April 18, 1818 ; the engagement had already taken place on May 17, 1816. The dynastic connection with the neighboring great power was an expression of Leopold's pro-Prussian and compliant policy. Friederike, described as a “loyal country mother , was a member of the Royal Prussian Order of Luise .

Friederike was buried in the Marienkirche in Dessau .
