Friederike & Uwe
Friederike Dopheide (born December 9, 1968 in Würzburg , born von der Weppen) and Uwe Wulz (born August 8, 1965 in Feldkirchen-Westerham ) are a German artist couple who work under the Friederike & Uwe label .
Both studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and have been working together since 1994. In their works, they primarily deal with kitsch, consumption and media and concentrate on the areas of designing image objects, performance and video art. In doing so, they satirize not only their subjects, but often themselves too. In their pixel images, they often use the alienating effect of ministeck mosaics. Her work was not only in German cities such as B. Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Mannheim, but also internationally in Sacramento, Helsinki, Paris and Lausanne.
