Cemetery chapel (Affing)
The Catholic cemetery chapel in Affing , a municipality in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg , was built in 1833. The chapel is a protected architectural monument .
history
In 1833 the barons of Gravenreuth had the cemetery chapel built as the family's crypt chapel . On September 19, 1833 was the Augsburg Bishop Ignaz Albert of Riegg ordained .
architecture
The building, built according to the plans of the architect Johann Michael Voit , has a single nave and faces south. It has a barrel vault and closes with a semicircular apse . On the gable roof sits a roof turret with a hood , which is crowned by a roof knob with a cross.
Tombs
In the apse niches are the tombs for Karl Ernst von Gravenreuth and Eleonore von Gravenreuth († 1832) with portrait busts of Johann Halbig from 1858.
