Friedo de Vries (* 1964 ) is President of the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office in Hanover .

De Vries was hired in 1981 in the middle service of the Lower Saxony police . After the change of the protection for criminal investigation , he got into the elevated service on. He completed his training for the higher police enforcement service at the Police Leadership Academy in Münster-Hiltrup . He then headed the Central Criminal Police Service (ZKD) in Wilhelmshaven . The original favorite to succeed him was the former Hanoverian police president and head of department in the Lower Saxony interior ministry, Axel Brockmann , who was appointed state police president in February 2018 and left the LKA leadership.
